Hi there
lovely readers! Today on the blog I have swatches and reviews of the second
half Fall/Winter 2015 Venice collection by OPI.
The line consist of 10 cremes (Be There in a Prosecco, Tiramisu, I Can Only Wear O.P.I., A Great Opera-tunity, Gelato on my Mind, Purple Palazzo Pants, It’s a Piazza Cake, Amore at the Grand Canal, O Suzi Mio, My Gondola or Yours?), 1 shimmer (Gimme a Lido Kiss), and 1 metallic (Worth a Pretty Penne) that will be added to the core line. Three limited edition polishes have also been released with this collection: Baroque but Still Shopping!, St Mark’s the Spot, and Venice is the Party.
I previously
swatched and reviewed the neutral and nude shades here. Today on the blog I
have the earth and jeweled shades.
Gimme a Liddo Kiss
This is a red
base with blue and pink flecks and microshimmer. The formula was very nice and was
fully opaque and self-leveled after 2 coats. Shown below are 2 easy coats plus
top coat.
Gimme a Liddo Kiss
Amore at the Grand Canal
This is a dark
red crème with blue undertones. As above, the formula was very nice. It only
took 2 coats for full opacity and self-leveling. However, I did get some
staining around my cuticles so I recommend careful application. Shown below are
2 easy coats plus top coat.
Amore at the Grand Canal.
Worth a Pretty Penne
This polish
is an antique rose gold metallic shimmer (or something close to all that!). It
is not only gorgeous and unqiue, but the formula is fantastic. With careful
application, all you need is 1 coat for full opacity. But see it with you own
eyes! Below is 1 coat plus top coat.
Worth a Pretty Penne
It’s a Piazza Cake
This is a burnt
orange brick crème. As above, the formula was very nice. It only took 2 coats
for full opacity and self-leveling. Shown below are 2 easy coats plus top coat.
It’s a Piazza Cake
O Suzi Mio
This is a
dark eggplant crème that looks a bit darker on the nail than it does in the
bottle. This one also had a very nice formula. As above, it only took 2 coats
for full opacity and self-leveling.
O Suzi Mio
My Gondola or Yours?
This is a
dark charcoal crème with a very subtle microshimmer. Unfortunately, the microshimmer
is not noticeable once it’s applied onto the nail. The formula was bit thick
and kept pulling a bit as I applied it. However, it only took 2 carefully
applied coats for the polish to self-level and become fully opaque. Shown below
are 2 coats plus top coat.
My Gondola or Yours?
Overall, I
love several polishes in this collection and I think all of the shades are
great for Fall and Winter. However, Worth a Pretty Penne and It’s a Piazza Cake stood out for me.
The OPI
Venice Fall/Winter 2015 is now available at beauty retail stores nationwide.
As always,
thanks for reading!
