Hello lovely readers! Today I have swatches and review of the Holiday 2016 collection from artisanal indie polish maker Tonic Polish.
The collection is comprised of 6 multichrome holographic polishes. This post is picture heavy so let's jump right to it!
Alchemy
The maker describes this polish as "a red/pink-orange-gold shifting multichrome with a blue/purple shadow. It features a sparkling scattered holo finish with tiny silver holo micro glitters." The shift on this one was both gorgeous and effortless with the perfect amount of holoness!
I found the overall formula for the collection to be very nice. Polishes did not flooded my cuticles, they self-leveled, and became opaque with 2 coats. Shown below are 2 coats plus Tonic Topper Quick Dry Top.
Alchemy from the Tonic Polish Holiday 2016 Collection |
The maker describes this polish as "made from some of the shiftiest multichrome pigment available, and it shifts through a whole rainbow of green-blue-purple-red-peach-gold-and back to green at the furthest angle. This polish features a sparkling scattered holo that does not dull the color shift and a sprinkling of tiny silver holo micro glitters."
Like with Alchemist, several photos were needed to capture the multichrome spectrum! Under my lighting conditions, the green-blue-purple shift were the most noticeable. The holo on this one was also very noticeable. Shown are 2 coats plus Tonic Topper Quick Dry Top.

Incandescent
The maker describes this polish as "a metallic ballet pink multichrome that shifts to peach and icy lemon yellow with a subtle scattered holo sparkle." I think that's a pretty accurate description, and I can't get over that pink shimmer over the yellow, a la dirty blond! The holo in this one is also perfection. Shown below are 2 coats plus Tonic Topper Quick Dry Top Coat.

Luminescent
The maker describes this polish as "a metallic aquamarine multichrome softly shifts to pale blue and lilac purple with a subtle scattered holo sparkle." The blue state was the most noticeable but I was able to pick up some of the soft lilac shift as well. I did have some slightly visible brush strokes, but these are minimal and can easily be avoided with careful application. Shown below are 2 coats plus Tonic Topper Quick Dry Top Coat.
Magnetic Midnight
The maker describes this polish as "known as the best time of day to view an aurora. This cobalt blue multichrome shifts to purple, red, and even gold at the furthest angle, sparkling scattered
holo that doesn’t dull the color shift, and a sprinkling of tiny silver holo micro glitters." The holo on this on is also very strong and I was able to effortlessly shift from cobalt blue to purple. Shown below are 2 coats plus Tonic Topper Quick Dry Top Coat.
