Indie Swatch and Review - New Year 2016 Collection by F.U.N Lacquer (Partial)

Nothing to disclose

Hello lovely readers! The Singaporean, 5-free, indie polish brand F.U.N Lacquer is returning to my blog with this review of 3 polishes from the New Year 2016 collection.

F.U.N Lacquer first caught my eye in 2014 with the Disney Princesses collection (which are now retired and I will forever regret not getting!), but the holographic microglitter bombs are what did me in. Today's collection debuted in late 2015 / early 2016 and featured 4 scattered holographic polishes (Superstar, Glory, Fashion Show, and Happy Ending) and a microglitter bomb with and without holo (The Art of Sparkle). Today I am reviewing The Art of Sparkle (Holographic), Fashion Show and Happy Ending.

The Art of Sparkle (Holographic)

This is a soft lavender holographic microglitter in a clear base. You can use this as a glitter topper but in can be worn by itself when applied as 2-3 coats. I found the formula to be very easy to apply and I was able to achieve opacity with just 2 easy coats. The polish is super sparkly on its own, but you can apply a top coat for extend wear and for a smooth finish. Shown below are 2 coats plus top coat.

Fashion Show

This is a charcoal-base scattered holographic polish with blue/purple undertones. It also features micro gold holographic glitter and purple/blue shimmer. The jelly-like, glossy formula applied nicely, and was fully opaque after just 2 easy coats. Shown below are 2 coats plus top coat.

Happy Ending

This is a 'bluerple' scattered holographic polish. It also features micro gold holographic glitter and pink/copper shimmer undertone. Similar to Fashion Show, this jelly-like, glossy formula applied nicely, and was fully opaque after just 2 easy coats. Shown below are 2 coats plus top coat.

Overall, I love this collection! The polishes are sparkly and glossy, just what you expect of a New Year's collection. I also love that it features the mandatory microglitter bomb without neglecting the beautiful holos for which F.U.N Lacquer is also known for. The non-glitter polish are also more suited for everyday wear, which is much appreciated!

Polishes from F.U.N Lacquer are available through several US and ex-US stockist or directly from their site here. I have purchased directly from their site several times now and the final price tag is usually comparable to the stockists once you add shipping and handling fees. Of course, you will have to wait 4-5 weeks for your polishes to arrive, but its worth checking out, specially when the site is running a sale.

Are you a fan of F.U.N Lacquer or did you you get any of these polishes? I would love to hear from you!

    1. I agree 100%! I'm still happy that they're offering less microglitters and more pretty duo-chromes and holos with the past collections.
