Indie Swatch and Review - 80's Baby - All Grown Up Collection by Different Dimension

Hi lovelies! Today I resume my review of everything neon with the 80's Baby - All Grown Up 2.0 collection by 3-free indie polish maker Different Dimension!

The 80's Baby - All Grown Up 2.0 collection is comprised of 6 neons with scattered holo: Gnarly 2.0, Tubular 2.0, Totally 2.0, Whatever 2.0, and Ditz 2.0. The collection was originally released in 2013 and was reformulated in Spring 2015 to make the colors more neon and brighter.

Formula - The formulae were very consistent throughout the collection, with a thick consistency and medium holographic effect under artificial lighting. Most polish only only required 2 easy coats for full opacity and the polish did not drag or pooled at my cuticles. Also, the colors were very rich and did not need a white base coat. Last, the polish were not very glossy when dried so I added a glossy top coat to all of the swatches shown below (Seche Vitae).

Gnarly 2.0 - A highlighter neon lime green with scattered holographic shimmer and subtle blue shimmer. Shown are 2 coats plus top coat.

Overall, I love this collection. The formulae are easy to work with, the colors are all on point and I like how the scattered holo distinguishes it from other neon collections we have all seen since Summer 2014.

What I also love about this collection is how well it complements my darker complexion. The chartreuse was a pleasant surprise (I prefer it to the neon yellow!) and the blue is by far the prettiest neon blue in my collection.

Do you own any of the polish from this collection? What are your thoughts?

As always, feel free to comment below and thanks for reading!

  5. Beautiful swatches! These are really pretty for neons, the holographic does it for me more than straight creme neons.
