Moonflower Polish Hope of the Brave Indie Swatch and Review

Press Sample

Hello lovely readers. Today I am reviewing Hope of the Brave, Moonflower Polish's offering for Polish Pick Up (PPU) June 2018.

PPU is a the monthly pop up e-shop that offers unique and limited edition polishes from well established and loved indie polish makers. This month is Moonflower Polish's second time participating and this polish is a beauty!

This month's PPU theme is video games. In line with this, Hope of the Brave was inspired Skyrim - Sovngarde. I'm not familiar with the game (shame on me, I know!). But per Nadia, Sovngarde is a realm in the game where the souls of mighty fallen warriors go when fallen in combat.

Hope of the Brave is a neon navy blue polish featuring red-copper-orange-gold ultra chrome chameleon flakes, aurora pigment, red/copper shimmer, silver holo glitter and scattered holo.

Unlike Moonflower Polish's signature stamping polishes, this polish is formulated to be worn as a full coverage polish. The application is flawless, self-leveling and covering in two easy coats. However, this polish is highly pigmented, so it is best to apply with a base coat first, as well as some cuticle oil during removal to avoid/minimize staining.

This polish dries a bit matte, and a glossy top coats really brings the holo and shimmer to life. Shown below are two coats plus a glossy top coat.

  13. Don't feel bad, I'm not super familiar with Skyrim either, and I'm a seasoned gamer! I just found it dreadfully boring. :( This polish is gorgeous though! It's definitely not boring.
