Hello lovely readers! Today I am reviewing Don't Read the Latin! by indie polish maker Moonflower Polish.
Don't Read the Latin! is Moonflower Polish's contribution to Polish Pick Up (PPU) for the month of September. To quickly recap for those of you who may be reading about PPU for the first time, PPU is a monthly indie polish e-pop up shop that is opened the first Friday through the first Monday of each month, and each month features a different theme from which makers draw inspiration. This month's theme is Horror Movies and today's polish was inspired by the movie poster from The Cabin in the Woods.
Don't Read the Latin! is a taupe greige (not quite gray, not quite beige!) polish featuring silvery shimmer, blue-gold microflakies, and red-to-green and red-to-gold shifting aurora pigments. Don't Read the Latin! is a stamping polish, but it also wears beautifully as a regular polish.
For this first look, I wore Don't Read the Latin! as regular polish (2 easy coats) and stamped with it using a clear jelly stamper and a stamping plate from Ejiuba's. I topped it all off with a glossy top coat.

For this second look, I stamped with Don't Read the Latin! using a soft stamper from Fab Ur Nails and delicate stamping design from an Uber Chic stamping plate. I also topped it all off with a glossy top coat.

Overall, I love this polish. The shade is perfect for transitioning into the fall months, and the formula is what I've come to expect from Moonflower Polish. And while paring a large image from a deeply edged plate with a jelly stamper wasn't my finest moment, this polish will generally work nicely with jelly stampers.
Don't Read the Latin! will be available at the PPU site here from September 7th through the 10th. It will retail for $12 US and only 75 bottles will be available.
