Fall Leaves and Pumpkins Nail Design

Nothing to Disclose

Hello lovely readers!  I hope you enjoyed or are about to enjoy a meal with your love ones this Thanksgiving day. To celebrate the occasion, Step-by-Step Nail Art Thursday is back with a Fall theme.

For this design, I wanted fall shades as well as some neutral tones to help tie in all of the colors. I hand painted the design, which may not be for everyone. However, with the right tools, most will be able to achieve this simple look.

Let's take a closer look below.

The base
For my base, I started with a dusty blue shade on my index and middle fingers (SinfulColor Rain Storm), a sparkly champagne holographic on my ring finger (Different Dimension Absolute Zero), and a nude shade on my pinky finger (OPI Be There in a Prosecco).

The art
I used mostly white, red, yellow, and blue acrylic paint for the hand painted details. I didn't want to make up brown from mixing a bunch of acrylic paints so I used a brown creme I had on hand (I happen to have lots of cremes in all colors on hand!). I also used a 18/0 fine art brush. You can find this and other fine art brushes at art supplies such as Micheal's.

The design consisted of a leaf reef with tiny pumpkins and branches over the blue base on my index and middle fingers. On my pinky finger, I did a simple stripe design that incorporated most colors.

The final look
I applied a coat of fast drying top coat and once the paint was dry to the touch, I topped the design with OPI matte top coat.
