Step-by-Step Nail Art Thursday - Hand-Painted Yellow Flowers

Press Samples Featured*

Hello lovely readers! In this edition of Step-by-Step Nail Art Thursday, I walk you through an easy hand-painted floral design that can be easily replicated by most of you with beginner to intermediate skills.

The Base
For this nail art, I wanted to have neutral colors as a backdrop for a fun yellow and blue color combo. To do so, I started with 2 coats of Zoya Gina* in my index and middle fingers, 3 coats of Zoya Tatum* on my ring finger, and 2 coats of OPI Wharf! Whalf! Whalf!  on my pinky finger. I added a layer of glossy top coat and waited for my base to be dry to the touch before moving onto the next step.

The Zoya polishes are reviewed here.

The Art
For the nail art, I used blue acrylic for the vines, yellow acrylic paint for the flowers, and black acrylic for additional details. I did all of the nail art using a fine detailing brush I had purchased from Sally Beauty.

The Finish Look
Once the acrylic paint had a few minutes to air dry, I then added a fast drying top coat, followed by OPI's matte top coat.
