Indie Swatch and Review - LE Hero's Come and Villain's Go by Arcane Lacquer

Hello lovely readers! Today I have my first review of  3-free Australian indie polish maker Arcane Lacquer.

The polishes from Arcane Lacquer caught my eye last year (specially the flakie jellies) and I finally decided to give them a try this past spring when they held a 20% off sale for their second anniversary. I purchased several polishes and today I am reviewing the limited edition duo Villain's Go and Hero's Come.

Read more after the jump.

Villain's Go

This beauty is a blue-leaning violet jelly base. The maker describes the glitter as featuring strong blue shimmer, multichrome flakies, neon pink flakies, blue flakies, and holographic shimmer. The blue shimmer is indeed strong and it almost gives it the appearance of a duochrome. My favorite element s of the polish, however, are the gorgeous blue flakes.

The formula is very nice. It self-levels, doesn't pool in your cuticles and builds up to opacity pretty fast.

Shown below are 2 coats over  a clear base coat and top coat.

Hero's Come

The second  part of the duo also has a lot going on. The maker describes the base color as a sea foam green.  It is very unique and reminds me of tarnished silver...but in a pretty and romantic sort of way! The maker described the glitter as featuring strong gold shimmer, multichrome flakies, gold flakies, rose flakies, and holographic shimmer. Again, the flakes are what stand out in this polish, with glimmers of rose, gold, and yellow depending on how the light hits it. The holographic shimmer is also beautiful and very complementary to the base color and flakies.

Again, the formula was very nice and applied beautifully. In fact, it applied so nicely that my non-dominant hand did not require clean up after polishing!

Overall, I am very happy with this LE collection. However, I think Hero's Come won the battle against Villain's Go. Both are beautiful and both have very nice formulas, but I have nothing else like Hero's Come in my collection and  I think it goes better with my complexion.

Lastly, I have to say that I am very impressed with the polish maker. I ordered several polishes at once, and they arrived intact in under 3 weeks (I am in the US FYI!).

As always, thank you for reading and feel free to comment below!
