Indie Swatch and Review - Del Mar and Del Sol Limited Edition Duo from Moonflower Polish

Press Sample

Hello lovely readers!  Today I am sharing a very special duo from 5-free indie polish maker Moonflower Polish. Continue to read to learn about the inspiration behind the duo and how your purchase can help aid the residents of Puerto Rico affected by this year's Category 5 Hurricane Maria.

Del Mar and Del Sol were inspired by a line in Puerto Rico's national anthem La Borinqueña, and they translate to Of the Sea and Of the Son in English.

Nadia, the maker behind Moonflower Polish, created the limited edition duo in the wake of Hurricane Maria and 25% of of the proceeds from the sale of the polishes will be donated to the United for Puerto Rico fund to help with disaster relief.

Del Mar
This is a turquoise green scattered holographic polish with green-to-purple color shifting iridescent microflakes. The green shift is very strong under my artificial daylight setup. The formula is perfection, covering after 2 easy coats. I didn't use a base coat, so I applied three thin coats to cover my nail imperfections.

Shown below are three coats (no top coat).

Del Sol
This is a burgundy red-to-copper duochrome scattered holographic polish. The shift is gorgeous and effortless under my artificial lighting setup. Again, the formula was great, becoming opaque with two easy coats.

Shown below are three thin coats (no top coat).

Overall, this limited edition is stunning, and I'm truly honored that Nadia chose me to share these swatches with you. For those of you who may not know, both Nadia and I are from Puerto Rico, and our parents and relatives are still in the island.

Important: You know Moonflower Polish for its 5-free stamping polishes, but this limited edition duo is formulated to be worn as regular polish.

Both polishes are available for pre-order now until October 9th, and will start shipping two weeks after the pre-sale ends.

Del Mar and Del Sol are available at www.moonflowerpolish.com and retail individually for $12 (15 mL full size) and $7 (7mL mini size).

Make sure to follow on social media for the latest news on releases and restocks.

The product featured here was sent to me free of charge in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

  2. These are gorgeous & I love that she is giving back to Puerto Rico. <3 During my college years, I interned in upstate NY at Xerox and there was heavy recruiting done at Univ of PR. They adopted me and a few others (a Brazilian, a Spaniard and myself - half Mexican) to be honorary Puerto Ricans. One of them recently moved back to the island and her home was flooded, but her and her family are safe. Those 4 years as an intern every summer with them has such great memories. Going to pick these up!
