Indie Swatch and Review - La Isla del Encanto Collection by Moonflower Polish

Press Samples / Blogger Discount

Hello lovely reader! Five-free, indie polish maker Moonflower Polish returns to the blog with the Isla del Encanto Summer 2017 collection. Keep reading for all of the details and for my discount code at the end.

Isla del Encanto, or Enchanted Island, was inspired by Puerto Rico. The collection features eight shimmers in jewel and earthy tones.

Moonflower Polish formula is optimized for nail stamping and nail art. This means that polishes are on the thicker side to allow for opaque, crisp stamping over black and other dark backgrounds. However, they also apply and wear nicely as regular polish after I add a few drops of polish thinner (I use the Orly brand available at Sally's).

All stamping was done over Moonflower Polish Noche, and full swatches are shown as two coats (after applying thinner) with a  glossy top coat.

Mar Caribe (Caribbean Sea)

This polish was inspired by the Caribbean Sea, which bathes the southern coast of Puerto Rico. It is described as a metallic aqua featuring green-to-purple shifting shimmer and gold-to-green-to-blue micro flakies.

Stamping was done using a BornPrettyStore stamping plate and the squishy soft stamper from Fab Ur Nails.

Flor de Maga (Maga Flower)

This metallic coral red beauty was inspired by the national (or state!) flower of Puerto Rico and features gold-to-purple-to-pink shimmer and rose gold micro flakies.

Stamping was done using a Moyou London stamping plate and the clear magnifying stamper from Baroness X.

Atardecer en El Morro (Sunset at The Morro)

This polish was inspired by El Morro, a 16th century citadel built by the Spaniards to defend the island from invaders! It sits right at the San Juan harbor's entrance, the the harbor to one side and the Atlantic Ocean to the other. El Morro is also the site where Nadia's husband proposed to her!

This metallic orange Polish features pink-to-purple-to-orange shifting shimmer and gold micro flakies.

Stamping was done using a Moyou London stamping plate and the clear magnifying stamper from Baroness X.

El Yunque

This metallic green polish features green-to-gold-to-purple shifting shimmer and and green-gold micro flakies. The Polish was inspired by the vegetation in El Yunque National Forest, Puerto Rico's rainforest. El Yunque is home to the Puerto Rican parrot and to over 200 species of plants and trees.

Stamping was done using a Pet'la stamping plate and the clear magnifying stamper from Baroness X.

Calles del Viejo San Juan (Streets of Old San Juan)
This metallic cobalt blue polish features purple shimmer and Indigo-to-purple-to-red shifting micro flakies. The polish was inspired by the cobalt stone-paved streets of this colonial city.

Stamping was done using a Bundle Monster plate and the squishy soft stamper from Fab Ur Nails.

Orquideas (Orchids)
This is a metallic violet polish with indigo-to-purple-to-red shifting shimmer and purple-blue micro
flakies. This polish was inspired by orchids that Nadia's mom and grandmother grew in their porches back in Puerto Rico.

Stamping was done using a Pet'la stamping plate and the clear magnifying stamper from Baroness X.

Cavernas del Rio Camuy (Camuy River Caverns)
This polish is described as bronzy brown shade with gold micro flakies and gold shimmer. It has that magical glow-from-within shimmer, making it one of my favorites from the collection. As the name suggests, this polish was inspired by caverns located in the north coat of the island.

Stamping was done using a BornPrettyStore stamping plate and the squishy soft stamper from Fab Ur Nails.

Huracán (Hurricane)
This bluish gray metallic features red-to-green-to-blue-to-purple shifting shimmer and dark violet micro flakies. Hurricanes are common occurrences in the island. I have lots of memories of hurdling with my whole family in one room as we waited for the winds and rain to subside!

Stamping was done using a BornPrettyStore stamping plate and the squishy soft stamper from Fab Ur Nails.

Overall, I love this collection. The polishes are all gorgeous and wear and stamp beautifully.
