Hello lovely
readers! It’s difficult to believe, but debuting on my blog today is China Glaze! Continue reading after the jump for (an excessive
amount of) swatches and review of The Great Outdoors Fall 2015 collection.
The collection
is comprised of 12 polishes in a variety of finishes: My Lodge or Yours, Change Your Altitude, Free Bear Hugs, Take a Hike, S’more Fun, Sleeping Under the Stars,
Gone Glamping, Cabing Fever, Pondering, Silver Fox, Wood You Wanna, and
Let’s Dew It.
My
Lodge or Yours
This is a crème in a neutral mauve
shade. This polish is one of several in this collection that can be worn beyond
the Fall season. It took 2 coats to become opaque and self-level. Shown below
are 2 coats plus top coat.

Change
Your Altitude
This is a crème in a grayish taupe
color. It is another beautiful polish that can be worn beyond the season and
one that makes a great base for nail art. It took 2 coats to become opaque and
self-level. Shown below are 2 coats plus top coat.

Free
Bear Hugs
This is a crème in a vampy burgundy
shade. It is a pretty polish but I feel like it has been done several times
before. It was opaque but patchy after one coat but self-leveled nicely after
the second coat. Shown below are 2 coats plus top coat.

Take
a Hike
This crème photographed as a dark forest
green under direct artificial lighting. However, it transformed into a dark
cornflower blue when appreciated under natural lighting. It took 2 coats to
become opaque and self-level but it could
be a one-coater if applied carefully. Shown below are 2 coats plus top coat.

S’more
Fun
This is a crème in dusty chartreuse
green. It is one of those shades that you either love or hate. I happen to fall
into the LOVE camp! It took 2 coats to become opaque and self-level. Shown
below are 2 coats plus top coat.

Sleeping
Under the Stars
This is a crème in a deep eggplant
shade and subtle pink microshimmer. The microshimmer on the bottle was gorgeous
but it hardly showed up on the nail. It took 2 coats to become opaque and
self-level. This too could be a one-coater if applied carefully (the
microshimmer shows up better on the first coat). Shown below are 2 coats plus
top coat.

Gone
Glamping
This polish is a want-to-be duochrome,
frosty shimmer. It looked very pretty in the bottle but it was very unflattering
on me. The formula was not bad but it was not opaque after two coats. Shown
below are 2 coats plus top coat.

Cabing
Fever
This polish is one of two duochromes
in the collection. This one shifts from dark pink to an orage-yellow. It took 2
coats to become opaque and self-level. Shown below are 2 coats plus top coat.

Pondering
This is the other duochrome in the
collection. This one shifts from violet to a dark teal. It took 2 coats to
become opaque and self-level. However, this too can be a one-coater if applied
carefully. Shown below are 2 coats plus top coat.

Silver
Fox
This chrome polish is one of 2
metallic foils in the collection. The formula was flawless, self-leveling and
becoming opaque after just one coat. Shown below is one coat plus top coat.

Wood
You Wanna
This bronze brown polish is the other
metallic foil in the collection. As with Silver Fox, it only took one coat for it to become
opaque and self-level. The macro of this polish reminds me of mole (the Mexican
spicy chocolate sauce!). Shown below is one coat plus top coat.

Let’s
Dew It
This is the only glitter in the
collection. The polish features multi-size hexes in a variety of metallic blue
shades. It is a full-coverage glitter after 2 coats. Shown below are two coats
plus top coat. Let's Dew It by China Glaze |
Did you get this collection or are you planning to? I would love to read your thoughts!
